Message: I am currently on a lung transplant waiting list for both lungs because I have IPF. The transplant team said I could get a call at anytime. I asked about taking Neprinol and here is the response I received.
"It would also be good to discuss with Dr. Iacono ... because this is not FDA approved and it can cause bleeding issues....you're on the active transplant WAITING LIST.
We cannot take the risk with you taking this medication and it having lethal side effects. So I am advising you NOT to take this medication until you discuss in detail with Dr. Iacono and myself in clinic. Hope
this helps."
